Governor of Washington Jay Inslee held a news conference in Olympia, WA on Monday to talk about the coronavirus outbreak in his state.

Gov. Inslee said that the state has increased their capacity to get medical tests back faster, adding that their priority is now to “slow the spread” of the virus.

Secretary of Health John Wiesman also said that they anticipate more testing to be done on individuals in a nursing home which had an outbreak of COVID-19, and that it is “certainly likely” that more positive cases will be identified.

6 people have died in the state from the virus. The state's total caseload currently sits at 18 with the bulk of the cases reported in King County.
