Na série As vozes dos artistas, a curadoria da 34ª Bienal de São Paulo conversa com artistas convidados, brasileiros e estrangeiros, sobre os enunciados da mostra – objetos com histórias marcantes e em torno dos quais as obras serão distribuídas na exposição, sugerindo leituras poéticas multifacetadas. O quarto encontro foi dedicado aos retratos de Frederick Douglass, e teve entrevistas com os artistas da 34ª Bienal: Tony Cokes (1956, Virginia, EUA), Alfredo Jaar (1956, Santiago, Chile) e Musa Michelle Mattiuzzi (1983, São Paulo, SP). Além de introduções ao trabalho de Zózimo Bulbul (1937 – 2013, Rio de Janeiro, RJ) pela pesquisadora Janaína Oliveira, e de Frederick Douglass (EUA, 1818 – 1895) pela pesquisadora Janaina Damaceno Gomes.

In The voices of the artists series, the curators of the 34th Bienal de São Paulo talk with the exhibition's participant artists, from Brazil and abroad, about the statements of the show – objects with remarkable histories around which the artworks are distributed in the exhibition, suggesting manifold poetic readings. The fourth encounter was dedicated to the portraits of Frederick Douglass, and included interviews with the artists Tony Cokes (1956, Virginia, EUA), Alfredo Jaar (1956, Santiago, Chile) and Musa Michelle Mattiuzzi (1983, São Paulo, SP).
