The Battle of Britain, fought from July to September 1940, was a decisive World War Two air campaign in which the Royal Air Force (RAF) defended southern England against the might of the German Luftwaffe. With France, Belgium, and the Netherlands already fallen, Britain stood alone—its survival resting on the courage of young Spitfire and Hurricane pilots who took to the skies. Over the white cliffs of Dover, fierce dogfights blazed day after day until, on September 17, Hitler abandoned his invasion plans.

Many in Britain believed that prayer and God’s providence played a vital role in their survival. King George VI called the nation to prayer, and churches across the land filled to overflowing. Winston Churchill immortalised the struggle with his unforgettable words: “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

I've been a storyteller all my life with a deep love of history. As a dreamer in Sunday School, I was mesmerised by the stories of the Bible - David and Goliath, the Battle of Jericho and the parting of the Red Sea.
