Stepping Back in Time

Описание к видео Stepping Back in Time

Time travel may not be possible, but tours around Ohio offer opportunities to step back in time; including the Ohio Village, that gives a glimpse of 19th century life in a small town; and the Ohio State Reformatory, also known as the Mansfield Reformatory, which operated as a prison until 1990 and is now a tourist hot spot.

In this video we explore:
Ohio VIllage: A Living History
In 1974, the Ohio Village opened to the public offering a glimpse into 19th century life of a small town. Architectural historian Jeff Darbee gets a tour of the village to learn more about its history.

Mansfield Reformatory
The Ohio State Reformatory, also known as the Mansfield Reformatory, is a historic prison located in Mansfield, Ohio. It was built between 1886 and 1910 and remained in operation until 1990, when a United States Federal Court ruling ordered the facility to be closed. Architectural historian Jeff Darbee takes a tour of the facility to learn more about its history, including stories about paranormal activity.

Peter Pan Statue
Cindy Lindsay from the Columbus Metropolitan Library shares the history behind photos of the Peter Pan statue in front of the library, and why the statue was created. The photos are a few of over 20,000 photos, documents, maps, and videos in the library’s vast collection.
