Peacherine Rag - By Scott Joplin - Solo Acoustic Guitar

Описание к видео Peacherine Rag - By Scott Joplin - Solo Acoustic Guitar

My solo acoustic guitar arrangement of Scott Joplin’s Peacherine Rag, written in 1901.
Being originally meant for performance on Piano, this piece presented a few technical challenges when learning on guitar! Foremost of these was trying to replicate the characteristic ragtime jumps, playing the high notes in the melody along with occasional octaves in the bass (as played with the left hand on Piano).

As with most of Joplin’s ragtime catalogue though, it is a very fun and ‘feel good’ piece to perform once past the learning stage.

I kept it in the original key by tuning the guitar a half-step down, meaning the first two sections are played as if in ‘E’ (but actually E flat) and the second two sections in A (which is then A flat).
