ITS DONE! HYDRAULICS WORK!!! In this video I do what's called the Group 3 Adjustments for my David Brown 990 Tractor. This includes the Cam Plate adjustment, adjusting the nut for the Connecting Rod, adjusting the Return Spring, adjusting Friction Disk, and adjusting Depth Control Cable (Sensing Cable). The 'geyser' of oil I talked about in the video wasn't quite as tall as my exaggerated movements made it out to be on video. It was about a foot tall or so (if that). And it was due to my pump not being 'primed'. Remember all that work I did in previous videos on the pump? Well, the oil needs to be pulled from the sump and the pump needs to get going with oil... That takes a few minutes. Be sure to read the sections in the service manual on 'Running in a new or reconditioned pump'! You should see oil coming out of the valve chest if looking from the rear into the Right Hand Ramshaft Bracket.

Start the tractor with the lever in lowering or hold positions with the arms fully lowered for the valve chest to bleed itself.
