Описание к видео Difference between Mixture and Compound in Chemistry

In this animated lecture, I will teach you about the difference between mixture and compound.

Q: What is the difference between mixture and compound?
Ans: Following are the differences between mixture and compound.

1) Compound is formed by chemical combination of two or more elements. Mixture is formed by physical combination of two or more substances.

2) Compound has fixed composition by mass. Mixture has no fixed composition by mass.

3) Every compound has its own chemical formula. Mixture has no chemical formula.

4) Compound has homogeneous composition throughout its mass. Mixture has either homogeneous or heterogeneous mixture throughout its mass.

5) In compound, the constituents lose their original properties. In mixture, the constituents retain their properties.

6) The components of the compound cannot be separated by physical methods. The components of the mixture can be separated by physical process.

7) Compound has sharp and fixed melting point. Mixture does not have sharp and fixed melting point.
