📜 About the Site:
Though nothing remains above ground today, Crickley Hill was once home to a significant Neolithic and early Bronze Age hill fort. Archaeological excavations have uncovered signs of intense prehistoric activity including defensive structures, burnt layers, and over 400 flint arrowheads found at its entrance. These findings suggest the site was the scene of a violent conflict over 5,000 years ago, after which it was likely abandoned.
