I painted my bathroom laminate countertop with Insl-X Stix primer and Benjamin Moore Advance paint. Watch to see my process and how it turned out. I did not put on a poly top coat in the end because the Advance paint doesn’t need it and it actually repelled the General Finishes Waterborne Poly Coat like water beads on a waxed car. I do have a paint sprayer, but chose not to use it for this project. If I were to do this again however, I would use the sprayer for only the paint, not the primer. I did not use my bathroom for over 30 days, because I needed the paint to fully cure before attempting the top coat. The end result is well worth the effort and after a few months, the countertop is holding up nicely!
