Genalo Jolts Fehr
Don Genalo upset leading qualifier Steve Fehr in the finals of the $120,000 King Louie Open, 223-188, capping a 663 three-game series as he defeated two other opponents en route to the title. Genalo toppled Sam Maccarone, 228-222, after Maccarone opened the championship round by defeating defending King Louie champ, Pete Couture, 215-167.
Genalo then beat veteran Gary Dickinson, Burleson, Texas, 212-210, with a "must" double in the final frame.
In the championship game, Fehr suffered splits in the third and seventh frames, while Genalo doubled In the fourth and fifth frames and again in the ninth and tenth to cement the $18,000 first prize.
