While returning home at night near Bhimtal, I had an unexpected sighting of a Himalayan Goral in its natural habitat. These elusive creatures are usually active during dawn and dusk, making this nighttime encounter truly special! The way this Goral moved through the rugged terrain in near darkness was an incredible sight to witness.


About the Himalayan Goral:

The Himalayan Goral (Naemorhedus goral) is a wild goat-antelope species found in the steep and rocky landscapes of the Himalayas. Known for their agility and ability to climb vertical cliffs, these animals are rarely seen at night. Their sharp senses help them detect predators, and their natural camouflage makes them difficult to spot in the wild.

🔦 Challenges While Filming:

Low light conditions made focusing tricky.

The Goral’s quick movements required a fast shutter speed.

Capturing the natural behavior without disturbing the animal.
