Making Glaze Sprinkles / Speckles

How to add speckles of one glaze inside another.

This is done with a process called sintering, which is the glaze equivalent of bisquing. The sprinkles are mixed, dried, crushed, and fired in a bisque firing. This sets them solid without melting them together.

The recipe used for the sprinkles here is:

Custer Feldspar - 46%
Silica - 23%
Whiting - 16%
EP Kaolin - 12%
Gerstley Borate - 3%
Stain or zircon (zircopax/zircosil) - 5-10%
Bentonite - 2%

And for the main blue glaze:

Custer Feldspar - 43
Silica - 24
EP Kaolin - 13
Whiting - 10.5
Gerstley Borate - 9.5
Bentonite - 2
Cobalt Carbonate - 1
Manganese Dioxide - 1
Chrome Oxide - 0.1

The previous glaze had sprinkles bisque fired hotter (1050c rather than 1000c for this one), and had some additional fluxing from the cobalt, so the recipe was different.
