Amtrak Cardinal at Burnham, IL (March 22, 1987)

Описание к видео Amtrak Cardinal at Burnham, IL (March 22, 1987)

Amtrak F40PH # 295 leads the Cardinal inbound to Chicago Union Station using the Pennsy Bernice Cutoff on a nice spring morning. At this point in time Amtrak referred to both the Indy-Chicago and the Washington DC trains as "The Cardinal" on the published schedule and had dropped the "Hoosier State" name for a year or so. See this webpage for timetable info: http://www.timetables.org/full.php?gr... Burnham is where the Bernice Cutoff crossed the NKP, C&WI, and CSS&SB. The cutoff connected the Pennsy "Panhandle Line" with the Fort Wayne Line. The cutoff is no longer used by Amtrak and much of this track is removed today. Filmed on March 22, 1987
