South Wales Rail Action, with a trip from Cardiff to Cwmbran. 17 and 20 Aug 2020

On 17th August 2020, the Welsh Government and Transport for Wales lifted the travel restrictions which limited public transport to essential travel only. Starting with a short interlude at Cardiff Central station, noting a few passenger trains and the general scene, I was able take the train to Cwmbran, with a few observations on the journey.

Then to Bishton Crossing, on the South Wales Main Line east of Newport, on a windy afternoon of 20th August. GWR passenger trains predominated the action but three freight trains also made an appearance.
