The Federation of Business & Professional Women Nepal (FBPWN) is a pioneer voluntary social & professional non-profit non-governmental organization for women from different professions and businesses. The main goal of FBPWN is to advance gender equality & socio-economic empowerment of women so they are more capable of contributing to the socio-economic development of Nepal. BPW Nepal’s strategy is to tackle comprehensively & proactively economic & social challenges commonly confronting women as they strive to advance in their professional & business career paths. BPW Nepal has an Executive Committee in Kathmandu & works through its chapters & units at the district & local levels to involve local professionals entrepreneurial-minded women in reaching needy women in their communities. Besides this BPW organize different free health camps in Nepal. This time they held a free eye surgical camp in Burtibang, Dhorpatan municipality, which is located West (156km around 6 hrs)from Pokhara in associated with Himalayan Eye Hospital, Gharipatan. This camp was organized specially for those whose economic Nepal condition is very poor. People aged from 10 yrs to 89 yrs were registered for the surgery who came from a very rural part of Nepal which usually takes 2 days to arrive at the destination where camping was held. Most of those people rely on agriculture for their livelihood. The camp was held for 3 days where 39 females & 40 males which includes 7 people for both eyes surgery, 31 people for left eyes & 41 for right eyes were registered. All 79 people now can see from their both eyes. Thanks to all the people & helping hands for making this free eye surgical camp successfully.
