SANDAKPHU Trekking Diary - (Four Days Trek in The Eastern Himalayas) #TREKKPLATOON

We were 4 enthusiasts in the team from Bangladesh who were keen to see the pristine view of the kanchanjunga...Sandakphu or Sandakfu or Sandakpur (3636 m; 11,941 ft) is the highest peak in the district of Ilam, Nepal and West Bengal, India. It is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border. The peak is located at the edge of the Singalila National Park and has a small village on the summit with a few hostels.

Day 1 - Januray 21,2017
We started our trek from Manyebhanjang towards Tumbling which is about a 4-5 hours of trek, through the forest-area. Although quite windy and cold, TUMLING provided a great view of Kanchendzonga. Tonglu & Tumbling are awesome places to be away from the crowd even if one doesn’t want to trek a lot.

Day 2 - 22 january,2017
In the morning we started our trek from Tumbling to Kalapokhri crossing Gairibas. The Trek was fairly comfortable ..Only a few hiccups after we crossed Gairibas because the path was steep and took the juice out of ourselves...

Day 3 - 23 january,2017
We started our trek in the morning from Kalapokhri to Sandakphu. Sandakfu was out of this world..The whole kanchanjunga range can be seen on a clear day..You can also see the range of the Everest...Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit

Day 4 - 24 january,2017
Early morning we were able to see the range with some clouds over the “Sleeping Budhha”. We started our trek towards Srikhola through the deep Singalila forest...After descending for almost 19 Km through the dense forest we reached srikhola which is a quiet beautiful place ...The Srikhola river passes by with loud sound leaving you calm..

thus ends our trek of Sandakphu which was in a word- "Mindboggling".
