See subtle differences between Japanese-standard JIS and American Phillips screwdrivers in satisfying, no-talking ASMR detail 🔎
In this 4K ASMR video I unbox and test the Vessel 220W-3 JIS ball-grip screwdriver kit (with interchangeable bits) against a standard US Stanley Phillips screwdriver.
Using machine screws, I compare grip, torque and “cam-out” behavior, showing how the JIS driver’s sharper, flatter flutes resist slipping better than the rounded Phillips bits.
The video highlights subtle tactile and audio differences - the satisfying click and twist of the bit, the smooth rotation and the clean insertion and removal of screws. Ideal if you’re curious about precision tools, working on Japanese electronics, cars or motorcycles, or just enjoy clean ASMR tool sounds & unboxing.

JIS has a flat tip and sharp/square flutes (less cam-out)
Phillips has rounded, thinner and tapered flutes
Electrical appliances often use heads other than slotted nor regular Phillips (either JIS or torx or Pz), because of better manufacturing efficiency (doesn’t slip out as easily in manufacturing)
