It is official! Antonio Conte has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur. Who even saw this coming? It’s funny because 4 hours right before Conte pulled his hair out again in the press conference after Southampton, I posted a video about Harry Kane and Spurs.

In that video I said, the writing was on the wall for Conte and he comes across as reckless in his press conferences. I also said Spurs need a manager for the next 4-5 seasons, not managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte who put their own egos above the club. I was not expecting this and Bayern Munich sacking Julien Nagelsmann to happen all in one week. Football eh? Bloody hell.

Conte’s win rate as Spurs manager is 54% and he averaged 1.88 points per game, right behind Tim Sherwood who finished on 1.91. Yeah, I don’t know why Sky Sports shared that graphic online either. His best moments at Spurs was beating Arsenal last season, finishing fourth and calling Spurs sheet.
In his farewell message, he said this: Football is passion. I would like to deeply thank everyone at Spurs who appreciated and shared my passion and my intense way of loving football as a coach”. Yes I’m sure everyone at Spurs appreciated the way you ranted about how crap the club is.

Don’t get me wrong what he said in that press conference is fairly accurate but the man needs to look up what the word accountability means in the dictionary. He knew what he was signing up for and he couldn’t handle the fact that he was in 4th place. He also threw up a tantrum when he was at Chelsea - remember the 6-0 defeat to Man City? He literally just gave up. I am so relieved my club Manchester United went for ten Hag and not Antonio Conte. He’s an 18-month manager at best.

I reckon this will be the last time that we will see Conte in the Prem at the top level. In a way it’s sad because himself and Tuchel gave us a great memory which will forever be cherished. Maybe somewhere like Newcastle with all the money,
He’ll go back to Italy because he’s adored there. My prediction? Maybe Juventus - make them great again. Can’t see him going to PSG or Real Madrid.

Where does this leave Spurs? They are currently fourth in the league, out of every other competition. Stellini and Ryan Mason will be taking over as coaches until the end of the season. I just don’t think they’ll be getting the top 4. Spurs need to do a Bayern Munich and secure their new coach right away. Whether that would be Poch or Nagelsmann. Ryan Mason (ole) and what’s his name are nowhere near good enough.
I only see two managers who will be the manager of Tottenham: Pochettino and Nagelsmann, And I also think Harry Kane will be involved in the managerial appointment as well.
If you get Poch back in, Harry Kane might stay because he has a great relationship with him. I just don’t think Daniel Levy out of all people could bring him back and essentially admit he was wrong. Getting rid of Poch in the first place was a massive mistake. Especially when he was given no money to spend. I feel like a good majority of Spurs fans want Poch back.
I think Nagelsmann is more of a risky appointment. And just like Lewandowski at Bayern, if Nagelsmann signs for Spurs, I don’t see Harry Kane staying.
Nagelsmann believes in 30% tactics and 70% social competence. So he was sacked mainly because of 30% of his tactics and 70% of his social competence. Is he the right man?

Because he’s so young and has done well at Hoffenheim and Leipzig and won the Bundesliga for Bayern. Everyone just assumes that he’s the perfect coach for Spurs. He’s also a character who can be pretty honest and brutal in his press conferences and is that something Daniel Levy, the board and maybe fans want?

In a way, the timing of Nagelsmann being released from Bayern is very good for Spurs. Daniel Levy did have him on his shortlist when he fired Pochettino back in 2019. And the sacking of Nagelsmann from Bayern did seem harsh. He had a 100% win rate in the champions league for Bayern, 2 goals conceded and was just 1 point behind Dortmund in the league. Finishing on a win rate of 71% at Bayern Munich. He’s someone who has taken Leipzig to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

His ideal formation switches from a 4-2-31 and 3-2-4-1 and I believe this would suit Spurs based on the players that they have currently. Also, a big fan of the gegenpress and Spurs just need to watch nice football again like they were doing under Poch - champagne football.
