In October 2020, the Arboretum installed a new modern solar photovoltaic system on the Visitor Center roof, with the support of partners and donors. The new Visitor Center system includes an array of 66 photovoltaic modules that are projected to produce 32,300 kWh in the first year of operation, with a planned operational life of 30 years.
