How a "Latte Art" Coffee Theme Epoxy Floor Is Created

1. Application of the Espresso Base Coat
The transformation begins on a prepped and primed concrete canvas.

What happens:
Installers pour a deep, dark brown (almost black) epoxy resin across the entire floor. This layer acts as the "espresso" shot, providing a high-contrast background that is essential for the artwork to pop. Large squeegees are used to spread the resin evenly, ensuring a consistent thickness and a smooth, self-leveled foundation.

2. The "Steamed Milk" Pour Technique
This is the most critical and artistic step, mimicking the skills of a barista on a massive scale.

What happens:
While the dark base is still wet (liquid), a creamy white resin is poured directly onto it. The installers use a rhythmic, oscillating motion with the buckets—pouring into the center of a puddle and pulling back—which forces the white resin to bloom outward. This specific pouring technique pushes the dark resin aside to form the classic concentric rings and heart shapes found in latte art.

3. Wet-on-Wet Dispersion and Settlement
The chemistry of the resins takes over to refine the image.

What happens:
Because both layers are liquid, they interact via surface tension. The white "milk" resin settles slightly into the dark "coffee" base, softening the edges and creating delicate, wispy gradients. This natural flow prevents the design from looking like a sticker and instead gives it the organic, fluid look of liquid coffee.

4. Troweling and Air Release
Refining the surface before it hardens.

What happens:

Once the resin has fully cured (hardened) into a solid plastic, the finishing touches are applied.

Heavy-duty rotary floor buffers are used to scour and polish the surface. This step removes any microscopic unevenness or surface residue, bringing the floor to a mirror-like shine that mimics the wet, glossy surface of a fresh cup of coffee.

6. Furnishing and Final Atmosphere
The café is staged to complement the floor.

Final result:
