26th ASEAN-China Summit 09/06/2023

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convenes with fellow Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the People’s Republic of China for the 26th ASEAN-China Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 6, 2023.

Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China leads his country’s delegation in discussions with ASEAN Leaders.

President Marcos Jr. plans to reaffirm the Philippines’ stance in support of a rules-based international order, including the adherence to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in the South China Sea.

He also intends to uphold and exercise freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea in accordance with international law, in light of the recent release of a new official map by China that asserts territorial claims over a significant portion of the South China Sea, as represented by the 10 dash line.
