While her social group sleeps, little Ariel twirls to her heart's delight, eventually settling to begin nursing from her mother Soursop. After a brief post-meal snuggle with mom, she twirls her way to the surface as the other whales in her group begin to stir. In a heartwarming display of mother-daughter love, you'll see Ariel wait and merge with Soursop as they swim away together.
This is a long, slow piece accompanied by a beautiful score by Jocelyn Scofield that blends to create a whale-themed ASMR experience.
One of my favorite aspects of this video is the contrast between the choppy surface sea and the still serenity that lies just under the surface of the ocean.
I'm publishing this on my birthday because it's one on my favorite encounters with the whales of Unit A, which I'm delighted to share with fellow whale-lovers.
