The Rookie 4x18 Parallels & Callbacks

This is my new comfort episode until probably tonight’s episode. #chenford #TheRookie

1- Missing Chen (3x09)- Tim miss Lucy. That is all.

2-Tim vs. Lucy’s Career (4x03)- I love this callback to the start on their partnership, how she was fighting for that job and now she’s fighting for the recognition she deserves.

3-No Tim Tests (3x11)- Tim even as a sergeant is great teacher/trainer. And he now has a new angle of training for each rookie.

4-You’re contact. I’m cover. (1x10)- I watch this episode often because of the funny stuff that happens with Bradford and Bishop.

5-The Badger (3x11)- The Badger is back and love the redemption he was able to find.

6 & 7-Ruining your uniform & Extra uniform (1x11 & 2x01) I love that in all these they had to change, but Bradford was the only one who had an extra uniform. There’s no parallel in the dialogue, but I like it because you get to see them in the white shirt and vest. (Side note- Eric is the only cast member who wears his vest under his uniform all times he’s in that wardrobe.)

8-Lucy Chen jumps in (2x01)- Lucy does what needs to be done. She’s badass. I also love that both Lucy and Tim got stuff their uniform messed up in this episode.

9-Save Me a Dance (3x14)- I didn’t really think we’d get this follow up…but OMG they both remembered a year later.

10-Top Rookie (2x02)- I had to put in this callback, because it’s one of my favorite scenes. One day years from now when their married lounging at home he’ll admit she’s the “best rookie” he’s ever trained.

11- Lucy & Tim’s career (2x13) - Tim putting aside his job for Lucy 🥰

I equally loved James and Nyla in this episode. I’m gonna try to do a video of their journey together at some point this summer.
