We explore Reading Abbey, the last resting place of King Henry I. Built from limestone from France, and flint from Oxford it's one of the more historic abbeys in England.

After its dissolution in 1538 it served as a tactical defense position for both the Royalists and Parliamentarians in the English civil war (it was first held by the Royalists, then taken by Parliament!) Later, its stones were taken to build Reading Town Hall in 1785. In 2018 restorations were finally finished and it was open to the public once again!!
