Lilleshall Abbey, situated in Shropshire, England, now stands 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Telford. Established between 1145 and 1148, it adhered to the rigorous practices modelled after the Abbey of Arrouaise in northern France. Despite facing persistent financial challenges, the abbey evaded the Dissolution of the Lesser Monasteries in 1536, only to opt for voluntary dissolution in 1538.
