This documentary peels back the red ribbon to reveal the "Sacred Parasite". A plant that ancient civilizations believed was the literal key to the Underworld and the only weapon capable of killing the sun.

Our journey begins in the Roman myths of the Aeneid, where the "Golden Bough" serves as a glowing passport for the hero Aeneas to descend into Hell alive. We then travel north to the frozen forests of Iron Age Gaul, reconstructing the terrifying "Ritual of the Oak and Sickle," where Druids harvested the plant with golden blades and paid for it with the blood of white bulls. Finally, we uncover the tragedy of the Prose Edda, where the trickster Loki weaponizes the plant’s innocence to assassinate Baldur the Beautiful, triggering the Norse apocalypse.
