This week I took delivery of my FL5 Civic Type R and here are a few clips from the day I picked it up. It was still wrapped and unwashed per my request.

This has been four years in the making. In 2019, I sold my S2000 but at the time nothing on the market matched what I was looking for. Back then I vowed that someday I would get a fun to drive car that would fill the void while still being practical enough to haul the family on occasion.

I passed on the FK8 Civic Type R due to the aggressive styling but when Honda unveiled the FL5 in July I knew that it was the perfect fit. I got in line for an allocation at my local dealership and finally received the Championship White car that I requested. They were great during the entire process, and I appreciate their handling of my special requests.

It’s been an incredibly long wait, but I can safely say that it was worth it.
