The bits are backwards, so they are read from left to right, each display showing 4 bits. At the start of the video the timer displays 000 000 0001 0010 011 001 1011 1111 which indicates that the timer has counted 301503 cycles (although there has been some down time so I have skipped the time a bit). The timer adds 1 every 0.5s, that means it has counted to about 42 hours.

I am obtaining all items one version at a time and pistons were very unreliable in earlier versions of minecraft, and after I updated to 1.5 they outright broke so I came up with compact comparator design that subtracts twice from comparator memory cell to act as a flip flop. It has features reset, add 2 and add 4 for each hexlet.

There wasn't room to add +1, so that has to be added manually, that's one flaw with this design. The reset isn't always reliable because getting the timing right to block carries was difficult with the limited space.
