This piece was a bit of a stretch for me- I usually build stand-alone creatures or buildings without thinking of a story, but this focuses on story. It follows a boy and a dragon as they grow up together.
The boy follows a map his grandfather gave him and finds a fire dragon egg.
After some years pass, he goes on a camping trip with the young dragon. They spend the day fishing, but when the boy goes to cook them, he discovers he left the match. Luckily, the dragon is able to breathe his first fire and starts the campfire.
Some years pass, and the dragon’s wings emerge. The first thing he does with them is take his human friend on a flight over the ocean at sunset. Notice the islands, which depict the 1st and 2nd scene, and the mountain range behind, which has a cave covered by foliage.
The human is older and knows his time is coming. The dragon has an egg it is protecting, and the two reminisce about the times they had. They plan to continue the cycle, with the dragon giving up his egg and the human making a map for his grandson. They set it up and the cycle repeats into eternity.
