Rodrigues Island from Above – Gravier Beach

After hiking all the way from St François along the rugged coastal trail — past Anse Philibert, Trou d’Argent, and Anse Bouteille — we finally reached Gravier Beach, one of the most beautiful and spots in all of Rodrigues Island. And of course, we couldn’t resist taking the drone up again! 🚁

Gravier Beach is the last stop on the famous St François–Gravier coastal trek, and it feels like the perfect reward after hours of walking through cliffs, secret coves, and turquoise lagoons. The beach itself is wide, framed by palm trees and lush green hills, with a few colourful fishing boats resting on the sand. It’s peaceful, quiet, and has that “end of the world” feeling — in the best way possible. 🌴

From above, the drone shows just how wild and untouched this coastline is. The contrast between the deep blue of the Indian Ocean and the bright coral lagoon is simply breathtaking. You can see the waves breaking far out on the reef, the long stretch of white sand, and the little trail winding back toward St François — our route home.

After filming, we cooled off with an ice-cold beer at a small beach shack, soaking in the views and the island vibe. It was one of those perfect travel moments — sun shining, ocean glittering, and just the two of us enjoying this hidden paradise at the edge of Rodrigues.
