If you want to temporarily mute notifications for an app like for an hour or for a day so that it will not disturb you during your off days then what you do, swipe the screen down to open the notification center. After that suppose if I want to temporarily disable the notification for this app what I will do, I will slide to the left then I will open this options and here you have the option to mute for one hour or for today. So let me select one hour. So once I do this one the app notification won't be shown for an hour.
