Welcome to our monthly livestream, the Move to Amend Live Report! This is the space where we bring you a live look into what’s going down inside the movement to amend the Constitution and legalize democracy. Highlights from August:

The first week of August we were all in Minnesota for the 3rd Democracy Convention. It was an awesome event with 500 people coming together across all aspects of the Democracy Movement in the United States. We’ve put up the materials from all our sessions of the Democratizing the Constitution Conference so that folks who could not attend can still use the materials and resources. Welcome to our newest MTA Affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio!

Thank you to the affiliates in our Minnesota State Network for their awesome work hosting us in Minneapolis at the Democracy Convention.


Metro Denver Move to Amend joined with Common Cause, Indivisible and a host of like-minded resistors to rally on the Colorado State Capitol steps and march to the ALEC / Western Conservative Summit conference locations. ALEC and the Western Conservative Summit were in Denver to rally their supporters - and help push their Agenda. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was ALEC's keynote speaker. Thanks to our Denver folks for protesting the corporatization of local government and education!

Pledge To Amend - election season is gearing up!

Get candidates running for office in your community on-record for where they stand on the We the People Amendment! Ask them to take the Pledge to Amend: http://movetoamend.org/pledge-amend

September 17 is Constitution Day! Each year, educational institutions that receive federal funding must provide programming on the US Constitution around September 17th, Constitution Day. This provides Move to Amend an opportunity to get into schools and make connections with educators, administrators, and students. We encourage Move to Amend supporters and affiliates to reach out to their contacts in schools as well as make new contacts with local schools and offer to provide materials or present material to students yourself!
