International Animation Day, also known as IAD, is held annually on 28th October. It was established in the year 2002 by the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation, commonly known as ASIFA. Annual observance for recognizing the art of animation and commemorating the first public demonstration of Charles-Émile Reynaud's Théâtre Optique, which took place in Paris in 1892.
