Race 6 - Semi-Pro Podracing Circuit: Baroonda - Baroo Coast.

This video is part of my second playthrough of Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, released by LucasArts in 1999. I stick to a single racer for each circuit, then in the Invitational Circuit do single races with some classic racers.

Although the Nintendo 64 was the prime platform for this game (the graphics and design style are very N64-like), the PC port is passable but not amazing. My biggest complaint with this game is that it is too easy. If it was designed as a more serious racing game, with more focus on heat and damage management, plus real consequences for crashing I think it could have been quite good. Like many N64 games, the more players the more fun!

Playing this on Windows 11 isn't too bad thanks to GOG support "out of the box". I do use dege's Voodoo 2 wrapper ( http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/ ) to fine-tune some graphics settings, and the controls were a bit fiddly to get going (had to edit .cfg files for proper axis control), but otherwise wasn't too bad.
