Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during the Congress’s ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, asserting that his party stands with ‘satya’ (truth) and will work to remove the Narendra Modi–RSS government from power. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha accused the Election Commission of acting in favour of the BJP, naming Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. Gandhi alleged that despite claims of money transfers during elections, no action was taken by the poll body. He further criticised a new law brought in by the Modi government that he claimed grants immunity to the Election Commission, vowing that Congress would change the law. Emphasising non-violence and truth, Gandhi said it may take time, but truth will ultimately prevail.
