Day 2 : Vintage Orewa Windsurf Session

Описание к видео Day 2 : Vintage Orewa Windsurf Session

Navigating an onshore wind and swell can be tricky especially getting out the back, away from closing out waves. What I have learnt over the years the 20years of sailing these conditions are:

plenty of power in my back hand to be able to jump the whitewash (5.3m / combat)
single fin 27cm on a larger volume baord : im on 93L jp-freestyle wave (93kgs)
board which is quick to plane . This means I am able to bunny hop the chop rather than nonplanning punch 🤛 through waves
don’t mind going down wind to to be able to dodge closing out waves or get through a lull , i can always gain it back.
being able to jump the ramps and land downwind without loosing too much momentum.
quick waterstarts to get up between the waves. Its easier to be on the board than body and gear in the water
when non-planing feet in the centre and knees bent, board nose facing the wave whitewash to be able punch through.
respect 🫡 the conditions
stay away from getting too close tocliffs / headlands as they create windshadows.

Enjoy
