3 WAYS TO HELP YOU REMEMBER ENGLISH WORDS || English Vocabulary Tips

Описание к видео 3 WAYS TO HELP YOU REMEMBER ENGLISH WORDS || English Vocabulary Tips

Have you learned a new English word recently and you suddenly forgot that word? Well, let's talk about these 3 ways to remember English words.

You don't actually need to memorize English vocabulary just to remember them, there are some ways that you can do to remember English words.

1. Note down new words that learned and make sentences
- Note down the word
- Learn the meaning of that word, so you’ll know when to use it

You can go to a website called “youglish” -- although this website is dedicated for pronunciation, I believe that you can also use this website to learn how native speakers use that word – how they use it in speeches or in interviews. Once you know how native speakers use it, make similar sentence on your own.

Then later on, write different sentences about that word. Write relevant sentences about it. Write sentences that will make you remember that word. You can put more emotion to that word – you can make it more personal.

2. Repeat words in different ways
Repetition is a common piece of advice when you are studying vocabulary. Why repetition? -- it’s because it will help you be more exposed to the word. If you see that word for the first time, then, you don’t see that word anymore, you don’t hear that word, you don’t use that word at all – chances are, you’ll forget that word (make echo). So, I suggest that you do repetition -- repeat the word that you learned in different ways.
- So, you already learned the meaning, you also have to learn the pronunciation of that word. That is important.
- Another way to repeat that word is by writing. If you love writing, write it on your journal and make relevant sentences with it (just like my first tip).
- Also, do some repetition on social media. Share your thoughts on social media with that word. You can even message someone with that word or comment on something with that word.
- You can also repeat that word on your phone. If you have memos or notes on your phone, note it there and check it before you sleep at night. HAVE A VOCABULARY ROUTINE – that can help you remember words without memorizing them.

3. Associate words with other things/people

How does it work? You saw a new word and then try to think of a thing or even a person, actually, that can help you remember that word. Associate the words you learned with things or people that can remind you of that word.
