How To Create a Button to Clear Cell Formatting of Certain Cells in Excel
Whenever you paste data from MS Word, another workbook or google sheet or even from online, you’ll get the formatting also. But sometimes we only need data not the formatting. Whenever situation like this arises you need to remove the cell formatting keeping the data. In this advanced excel tutorial, I’ll show you how to remove the cell formatting only in Microsoft excel.
In this excel tutorial I’ll create a macro that will remove only cell formatting in excel and then I’ll create a button. After that whenever I click that button, it will delete the cell formatting keeping the value intact.
Follow the steps below to remove cell formatting in excel.
Step 1: Click on the “Developer” and then “Visual Basic. (If you don't find the developer tab here, check out this video:    • How to add developer tab in excel  )
Step 2: Now from the new window. Click “insert” and then click “Module”.
Step 3: Write the code here (Signup here to get the code: https://bit.ly/SignUpCode)
Step 4: Close the VBE.
Step 5: Create A button by Clicking “Insert” and Then “Shapes”.
Step 6: Add text on the button as button name. You can write “Clear Format” As button name
Step 7: You need to assign the Macro to the button you just created. Right click on the button and click “Assign Macro”.
Step 8: Click on “Clear Format” and click “Ok”. (You need to select the button name here. Mine is “clear format” so I clicked on that)
Done. This will keep the value but remove the cell formatting. Remember to write the data range inside the macro.
