Juan Jaramillo is a Deaf Colombian-Canadian artistic director, writer, dancer, and performance artist whose work celebrates Deaf culture, identity, and accessibility in the arts. As the founder and artistic director of Dancing Hands Theatre, Juan has dedicated over 30 years to developing and performing ASL dance and musical interpretation, transforming movement and sign language into powerful forms of visual storytelling.

His work explores the intersection of language, culture, and identity—bridging communities through performances that honour the richness of Deaf experience. Juan has received the Christine Karcza Disability Leadership Award and a Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for Outstanding New Play, recognizing his leadership and creative contributions to inclusive theatre. ⚡⚡
