Teaching kids about investing and the stock market when they are young can have a positive effect as they grow up. Learning how to wisely invest money that we save for long term future growth, is a powerful force in achieving life goals such as purchasing a home, saving for retirement, funding higher education, etc.



Often times we don’t think of discussing financial concepts with kids, but children are often very capable of understanding basic investing concepts and terms, if expressed in an age appropriate manner. Helping them to learn these concepts when young can make this information less intimidating to understand when they get older. A key part of many long term investing strategies is obviously developing an understanding of the stock market. This first video of the playlist Teaching Kids About Investing introduces basic stock concepts using an imaginary company named the “Kitty Come To Dinner Collar Company”, maker of a special cat collar that allows pet owners to remotely summon their pet cat for dinner.
