Goal Shooter's should always make sure that they are in prime position to make the shot. That's why being able to hold your GK in a position ignorer to protect your own shooting space is a vital skill for your game.

This session will take you through a front and over hold and teach you some hints and tricks to hold your space and make sure you are always in a good position to take the ball to shoot.

Remember to use your body to hold your space and don't be afraid to stand tall and strong even with the pushiest of defence. It's all about creating good angles for you to keep the defender on your back and hold your space to take the ball.

Movement 1 - Front hold
Hold square in-front of defender
Split Landing
Turn and Shoot

Movement 2 - Over hold
Use your hip to hold the defender in your front
Use your hand to signal
Only move once the ball has gone over your head

Movement 3 - Protecting the inner circle
Keep your back to defender
Make sure defender is kept t o circle edge
Split land to get closer to the post

Movement 4 - Match specific
Make sure your 5th pass is in the 'inner circle'
Use your body positioning to hold defender away from your space
Quick passing and movement is key
