Fearing tampering of important documents, the CBI officials left their temporary camp office which was set up in Rampurhat on Wednesday. The officials left at night with important documents for Kolkata. Hundreds of villagers gathered around the CBI camp office post Lalan’s mysterious death on Tuesday. Lalan’s daughter and his family have alleged murder by the CBI. The locals blocked the national highway. Lalan’s wife Reshma Bibi lodged an FIR against CBI officials on Wednesday.

The prime accused in the arson and violence in the Bogtui village, was allegedly ‘found hanging’ on Monday (December 12) in a temporary office set up in Rampurhat by the CBI. 10 lives were claimed in the Bogtui massacre. He was arrested on December 3 from a hideout along the Bengal-Jharkhand order. As per news agency PTI quoting CBI sources, the body of the accused was found in the washroom of the office. The source also claimed that it looked as a ‘case of suicide.’ PTI quoted the CBI source as, "The body of the prime accused in Bogtui violence was found hanging in the washroom of the guest house, where we have set up our temporary camp, around 4.30 pm. We have informed the police and all necessary procedures are being followed."
