Assessing a Singer 760 Sewing Machine - Part 1

This is one of the two Singer 760s I have not assessed and I go through and check the machine for any major issues and fix a couple of issues on the way.

I start by running the machine to see if it actually runs and how noisy it is.
Then it's time to lubricate and you will be able to notice instantly what affect oil on the hook race has.

There are a couple of rattles that I track down and rectify.

After assembling and cleaning I find an issue with the stitch selector dial.
The final sew test is promising.

The 700 series Singers are precision made in Germany and are beautiful and very functional, not to mention easy to use.
