Behavior is purposive. Positive Discipline (rooted in Adlerian Psychology) teaches that "misbehavior" happens when children feel discouraged or when they lack skills. When we stop and see the world from their perspective, we can start to identify why a behavior (and not necessarily a "misbehavior" from their standpoint) might be happening and can then brainstorm solutions or respond with different way to connect and invite cooperation.
