The Sendero HD Is A Rock Beast! - Element RC Rock Crawling

This is it. The Element RC Sendero HD has a new set of wheels and tires all mounted up and ready to roll. We wanted a smaller but aggressive tire on this truck and the Pit Bull Rock Beasts fit the bill. Mated to a set of bronze Vanquish KMC Machete wheels with Crawler Innovations Lil’ Nova foams, these tires are ready to rock.

We wanted a special place for a test run of this new setup. In 2013 a major flood hit our area and the nearby hamlet of Bragg Creek narrowly missed being wiped out by the swollen Elbow River. Where the river passes through the sleepy village, a new flood plain was scoured out by the raging river.

For years the authorities were building a new flood wall in the area to protect the town. That work is done now and I decided to finally hike down to the river to see what the rocks looked like at ground level. They didn’t disappoint.

Accessing the river bank is not that easy, but we will definitely be returning to this awesome spot in the future.

The Rock Beast tires are 4.50x1.7 and we opted for the smaller 4.25 size of Crawler Innovations foams. We tried 4.50 foams, but they felt a bit stuffed. The final setup is very compliant.
