The 2019 Ram 1500 competes with the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. every year since 1986, Ford’s F-Series pickup. And while Ford trucks offer loads of capabilities and features for professional use, Ram’s pickups have earned big fans among those who use their trucks to commute and have fun, rather than to make money. With a refined, comfortable ride and driving manners as well as an effective, easy-to-use infotainment system, the new Ram 1500 aims to be a fully functional commuting vehicle as well as a way to tow weekend toys.

The 2019 Ram 1500 gets one of two engines, a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque or a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. New for 2019 is a bit of new engine technology called eTorque, which replaces the engine’s alternator with a motor/generator system that can deliver 90 extra lb-ft of torque with the V6 or 130 extra lb-ft with the V8.
