Why I bought Shure SM58?

Thinking about buying SM7B? Watch this first. In this video I explain why after doing a very deep research into microphones and voice over audio engineering I chose to buy Shure SM58 for my voice. Because it is not perfect and that is exactly what I need. The same way as vintage portrait photography lenses to do portraits with amazing swirly bokeh and that magic vintage softness across all the frame. That what SM58 is in terms of a voice over.

*on a second thought final normalization at -10db is too quiet. "Standart" is -3db, I tried it and it just does not sound right for whatever reason. I will try -8 or -6 next time.

The current vocal chain I use:
shure sm58 - dbx286s (46gain, high pass off, compressor 6 and 6, de-esser 4k on 3, Enhancer 0 0, explander/gate -30 on 10:30 o'clock, output -10)
goes into Focusrite solo scarlet mic input on 0.
Audacity effects - loudness normalization -20db RMS, limiter (soft limit 0 0 limit to -6db, ms 10, make up gain - no)
