We’re excited to share another fantastic story from our returning volunteers! Today, Paul Coffield, a UX design consultant, talks about why he decided to come back to the Scottish Tech Army and how he’s making an impact.

Paul's three key reasons for coming back:
1. Flexibility to work with his personal rhythm: Paul appreciates that the STA allows him to step in and out of projects based on his capacity, especially with his ADHD diagnosis. He values the ability to engage when he can and step back when needed: “My time with the STA has allowed me to work to that rhythm... I can step back in and pick something up... and I can just as easily step back from things.""

2. Control over project involvement: Paul enjoys working solo on certain projects, which gives him control over his schedule and commitments: “I've ended up being solo on a number of projects... I have more control over setting when we can meet... and knowing when I will be able to deliver something.""

3. Opportunities regardless of experience: Paul believes that STA offers something for everyone, regardless of experience level, and that he can contribute by helping others without fully immersing himself in a project: “There is something for people to do, regardless of how much experience they do or don't have... I don't need to be fully involved in a project myself to still bring value to the STA.""
