There have been a number of comic crossovers betwen Batman and Spawn, but I decided to do an adapation of the first story, Batman/Spawn: Wardevil by Doug Moench, Alan Grant, and Chuck Dixon.

In thefilm, Batman is invesigating what he thinks is a terroist plot involving Gotham Tower, a building project commissioned by a late man called Simon Vesper, who was murdered six years ago by Al Simmons, the man who later died and became the demonic superhero called Spawn.

Meanwhile, Spawn arrives in Gotham, drawn by his fractured memories of killing Vesper. He too investigates Gotham Tower and encounters Batman, whom he initally mistakes for a demon sent after him.

Simon Vesper unexpectedly returns from the grave to host the opening of the Tower, only to use it to start a ritual that raises the dead in Gotham City Graveyard as an army of zombies. Vespers' body, it turns out, has been prossessed by the demon Croatoan who intends to murder 20,000 people in Gotham as a sacrifice to the devil. In return, he hopes to receive his own kingdom in hell.

Batman and Spawn then team up to fight Croatoan and his undead army.
