Starting pitchers in this second game of the two game series from Shea are Brett Myers for Philadelphia and Matt Ginter for New York. The Mets have a 3-0 lead through 6 innings on a RBI Double from Piazza in the 3rd. In the Mets 6th inning Phillies starter Myers begins to struggle and loads the bases with a couple walks and is replaced by Phillies reliever Roberto Hernandez. Mets have a 3-0 lead after six innings. In the Phillies 7th they score 6 runs (3 unearned on errors from Kaz Matsui and Mike Piazza) and a RBI single from Doug Glanville (as John Franco comes in replacing Bottleco) Mets using three relievers in the inning as the Phillies take the 6-3 lead. Roberto Hernandez picks up the win (1-1) and John Franco gets the loss (0-3) while Phillies closer Tim Worrell gets his 6th save in the young '04 season.
